โปรแกรม 7-Zip เป็นโปรแกรมบีบอัดไฟล์ สนับสนุนไฟล์ฟอร์แมตต่างๆ มากมาย เช่น 7z  ZIP  CAB  RAR  ARJ  GZIP  BZIP2  Z  TAR  CPIO  RPM and DEB รวมถึงนำเสนอฟอร์แมต 7z ซึ่งให้อัตราในการบีบอัดสูงกว่าโปรแกรมอื่นๆ แม้แต่กับไฟล์ .ZIP และ GZIP เอง 7-Zip ก็สามารถทำได้ดีกว่า PKZip และ WinZip ในอัตราส่วน 2-10% โดยพัฒนาและจัดทำในรูปแบบ Free Software ภายใต้เงื่อนไข GNU LGPL ครับผม
